Day 8, 9 and 10

Day 8

Day 9

Day 10

Well, the puppies are doing amazing; growing and getting stronger every day. They are not as vocal as they were a few days ago. They still make the cute puppy sounds, but no more screaming like something is wrong! They have really grown so fast. Just today, Day 10, Polka Dot and Shimmy opened their eyes! The others are not far behind. It is always so precious to look into their eyes for the first time. They have all started to get their little feet under them a lot more too. I think as soon as they all can see, they'll get the hang of walking real fast.
Pickles is doing real well too. She's a wonderful mother.
Noodles seems to be doing better today. He's been so sad that Pickles isn't playing with him. We've tried to give him extra love and attention, but sometimes it doesn't seem to help. Today he seems much better and relaxed though! Soon Pickles will be playing with him again! I'm thinking another week and things will be getting back to 'normal'!

Puppies Day 5 and 6

Well, the puppies are almost a week and have doubled in size. The largest puppy weighs about 2 lbs and the smallest a little over 1 lb. They are doing great! All puppies are pretty fat and are getting stronger every day! No longer are they doing the army crawl, but trying to use their legs more and more. It won't be long before they are walking all over the place! Their noses started to turn black real early, only after a few days. Just on Friday, they started to get black around their eyes and paws too. I am sure they will begin to open their eyes in the next few days. The puppies are VERY vocal... I think more so than the last litter. Not only do they do the typical puppy noises, but they SCREAM... and most of the time for no reason. I'll run into the kitchen thinking one is getting squashed and it's just laying next to it's siblings or eating! What crazy dogs! Most of them do not like to snuggle me yet, but Big Hunk and Lil' Bow Wow LOVE to! I think Polka Dot is the noisiest now, but it was Lil' Bow Wow the first few days. I have a feeling they will all begin to take turns! It might all change once their little eyes open and they can see where they are and where they are going!

(This little pup got out and decided to just snuggle on the comfy bed.)

...it must have been peaceful for her (Pocahontas).

Puppies 3 days old

These pictures were taken on 11/12/09.

Last litter I decided I was not going to name the puppies the 6 weeks we would have them because I did not want to get attached to them. Well, that didn't work. I fell in love with 'Girl with Dot on Her Head', 'Two Dot Boy', etc, still... So this litter I thought it would be easiest to give them names for the 6 weeks we are here. They all make sense in my head based on their markings so it's real easy for me to tell who they are now! We have 3 boys and 5 girls: Big Hunk, Babe Ruth, Lil' Bow Wow, Lady, Angel, Pocahontas, Polka Dot and Shimmy!
