8 Day Puppy Pics

The puppies are doing great. Jason and I actually think they look bigger than the other two litters at 8 days. They are moving around like crazy and some of them are actually gaining a lot of strength and lifting up with their front legs. As soon as they open their eyes, we know they'll be off running!

Their noses and feet are turning black and their little ears are starting to get longer. While this litter seems to be 'quieter' than the other two, they do like to yell for no reason at all. This makes for a lot of up and down on our part making sure they are okay, only to find them snuggled up with each other sleeping...

So precious! Enjoy the pics!

Day 1-3 Update

We have 4 boys and 4 girls!

We took Pickles and the puppies to the vet yesterday for a check up; they are all doing great! The past couple of days have been wonderful watching the puppies grow right before our eyes. Now that we are getting caught up on rest, it's even more enjoyable ;) This litter really enjoys snuggling... even at this young age when they are normally so squirmy, they will fall asleep when I hold them; allowing for me to really love on them!

Enjoy some of the pictures and video clips below!

Happy Birthday Puppies!!!!! - 09/09/10

We have 8 beautiful and healthy puppies!! They and Mama are doing great. I tell you, Pickles is such a pro and awesome mother. No major changes happened from about 8am yesterday until about 10pm. Around 10 she started to get sick to her stomach. After the second round of cleaning everything up (about 11:30 or so), we headed to bed for a little while just to get some rest for the long night ahead. As in the past, we were expecting Pickles to make some type of noise so we'd know it was getting close to time for delivery... Well, instead we woke up to puppies crying! We ran in there about 12:45 and there were two puppies! Pickles had done such a great job and didn't ever make a peep. The other 6 came within 3 hours, so it was fairly quick. She never made a peep, just took care of the pups while we took care of her and the little ones.

She has been eating and drinking very well, as well as gotten up out of the bed a couple of times to walk around outside. I am so thankful for all of these gifts!

Now, about the pups... they are just so adorable! So soft and they make the sweetest noises. I feel so bad for them when they are first born, because they really do have such a hard time finding the nipples... it will be right in front of them and they are squeaking up a storm trying to find one! But in the end, they all do and are eating very well! Enjoy the pics below!

Puppies Within the Day

Pickles' teeth started 'chattering' about midnight on Tuesday morning the 7th. She seemed fine the rest of the day. Then she started shaking later that evening. About 8am this morning (the 8th) Pickles started nesting in her bed and panting. I hurried and fixed her a great breakfast before she won't eat any more. Good thing, because she won't touch a thing now. It's about 1:30 now and we are loving on her as her body prepares to bring the sweet puppies into this world. Everything is ready. We are expecting about 7 puppies this time per our last visit to the vet.

Here is Noodles curled up in the seat I've created for myself here in the kitchen next to Pickles. He's worried about her you can tell; I know he just can't understand.

The below pictures are from the past several days...
